We are still open but are currently running on an appointment only basis. This is primarily for emergency eyecare, which includes anyone with sore eyes, red eyes, sudden loss or changes in their vision, flashes and floaters or any other concerns. We are also seeing patients for services provided on behalf of the local hospitals, e.g. cataract post-operative assessments. We are able to offer telephone and video appointments to minimise the need for patients to visit the practice.
We care about the health and safety of all our patients, so in accordance with official government and industry guidelines, we ask that you telephone us first on 01539 721619, so we can offer advice and then arrange for you to come in for an appointment, if necessary.
We are running with reduced staffing, and those who are there this week are working hard to contact patients whose glasses are ready for collection and are offering to post them out instead. We're also working through our contact lens automatic shipments and offering free home delivery if you usually collect them in practice.
If anyone, especially key workers, have damaged or broken their glasses, we're here to help. If you are in self isolation for 12 weeks and face the same situation, please try and arrange for someone to drop your glasses in so we can repair them for you as soon as possible.
Again, please telephone us first on 01539 721619 before coming in practice. When you come to drop glasses off, please wrap them up with your name, or the name of the person who you are delivering them on behalf of inside, in case there aren't any members of staff in practice at the time. You will be able to post them through the letterbox and we will work out the best way to get them returned to you once they have been repaired.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during these unprecedented times.
